Ultra Trail Malaysia by UTMB (50KM)

Joining this race with Joey again.  Actually, she went to this race in 2023 and came in top ten, which is quite a feat as this race is famous for the muddy and super slippery terrain and also leeches.  Before its UTMB name, it  was known as Malaysia Mountain Trail Festival.   It was really a big mud festival because every year when I see the FB posts from people who participated, it was always very muddy, people sliding and getting injured.  That is the reason why everywhere I am not tempted to go for this race, as I am not very good with trail and not sure if I can grapple with the terrain.

Macritchie 25 Runners Ultramarathon 2024

This year I did the qualifying on 23 Aug 2024.  To speak the truth, I am not sure whether I can still qualify with just five rounds, but my speed was a little bit faster than others, so I felt that there are still some chances.  The qualifying is for top 6 participants with the most rounds followed by the best timing.  The six from each category will then be invited for the final show down on 27 Dec at MacRitchie.

Gede Pangrango Marathon 2022

This was a postponed race from 2020.  Was really looking forward to it then as I promised to join with my Indonesian running friend, Jusuf, whom I met in Tahura Marathon at Bandung.  We had always wanted to meet again for a race in Indonesia and when we finally wanted to do this, Covid hit in 2020.

Pong Yaeng Trail 100KM 2018

Pong Yaeng Trail 2018

Taking place in Chiang Mai, Mae Sai region.  The race base is at the famous attraction, Queen Sirikit Botanic Gardens.  This is about 30km from the Airport to reach.  I wanted to do a 100KM myself and was thinking about the ThaiUltra Marathon, which I missed doing 2 years ago and ended up doing a walk through because of the Thai King passed away.  This year unfortunately, they were also not able to organise the race due to some authority factors.  In the end I was in a cross road between PYT and the trail in Nan.  Thinking that I am just a newbie, I decided that PYT will be a safer choice because of its good reputation and also the elevation was not as much as Nan.  Also since I had already walked through the 50km of Thai Ultra Marathon, I thought that the landscape should be the same.
