As usual, browsing through the events on Facebook and came across this race. Was actually looking for drinking events then end up signing for a trail race. What attracted me to this place was that I had been to Kota Tinggi when I was young and wanted to go back again. Another thing is that I was quite sure that there will not be many Singaporeans in this race. […]
Melaka Marathon is held in the Heritage state of Malacca in Malaysia. In 2008, Malacca was listed as the UNESCO world heritage site for its long history and architectural buildings.
So last year I did this, and I reflected, I cannot always be a joke just do things for the sake of doing. Usually my bike leg is the greatest joke of all as I always rent the mountain bike from S lite company to do the race ( no road bikes for loan for me because of height issues).
Mikkellar Bar in Singapore was opened only the recent few years. I remember when I started to get interested in craft beer drinking, I chanced upon their store at the current Bunker Bunker and then then Deck.
So Lululemon, some heard of it, some might not, it is a leading brand in athelesisure wear, predominantly for Yoga. They also have some apparel and accessories for running.
Pong Yaeng Trail 2018
Taking place in Chiang Mai, Mae Sai region. The race base is at the famous attraction, Queen Sirikit Botanic Gardens. This is about 30km from the Airport to reach. I wanted to do a 100KM myself and was thinking about the ThaiUltra Marathon, which I missed doing 2 years ago and ended up doing a walk through because of the Thai King passed away. This year unfortunately, they were also not able to organise the race due to some authority factors. In the end I was in a cross road between PYT and the trail in Nan. Thinking that I am just a newbie, I decided that PYT will be a safer choice because of its good reputation and also the elevation was not as much as Nan. Also since I had already walked through the 50km of Thai Ultra Marathon, I thought that the landscape should be the same.
Another one of those Ekiden races well liked by Singaporeans. This year the race venue is at the Palawan Beach, Sentosa. Participants can chose to do the half marathon or full marathon distances divided among four runners. For the registration, just one of the team mates can sign up and pay for all online and there will be an invitation sent out for the rest of the participants.
This race is held in Taipei, Yang Ming Shan by the Chinese Taipei Association of Ultrarunners, the race categories are set as 5K, 10K, 20K and 42.195K. There are also longer ultra races 50km and 66km. The one I took part is full marathon of 42.195km, to speak the truth this is more like a hilly road race than a trail.
