So you have embarked on some weight loss program. But realise that you are unable to sustain it . Somehow doing it alone is so much more difficult than doing it with your friend or someone.
What exactly is hindering you to shed off those pounds?
- Not seeing the results
Weight loss is not magic. If you keep exercising and start to take lesser quantity of food, it will still take sometime to see the difference and change. You body is not a robot, the cells and different parts takes time to react to the changes that you do to it. You have to be patient and see it through. It takes about one month for liposuction to take effect and show the results.
Therefore, do not be too eager to see any changes if it does not happen that soon. Besides everyone’s body structure is different and some of us just take a longer time to see some effect. You have to be determined and persevere.
2. Not the right weight loss program for you
Since all of us are made differently, some programs might just work for you while some will not. For example the infamous apple diet where you only take apples throughout the day. It is actually not healthy as you are depriving your body from other essential nutrients to sustain your life. You might find if you have been eating big 3 meals a day and suddenly resorting to just only apples, it is really causing distress to your body.
The effect might be worse as you will be more apt to let it go and go back to your old diet!! Maybe even double the intake because now that you have starved yourself so much.
The most important thing to remember is to let your body slowly adjust to any changes, do not do anything drastic.
There are many programs out there which is rather extreme for your body. There is the totally no carbohydrates diet, protein only diet, fruits only diet. Your body need all the essential nutrients and minerals and it is important that you consume all the different types of items including fats. But of course you should follow the food pyramid and consume wisely.
There is a balance in everything, we must keep everything in moderation in order to sustain good health.
3. Getting Support
It is not easy doing it alone, one of the suggestion is to engage yourself into some forums for weight loss and gain support from peers who are also in the midst of their weight loss program. Everyone need support together. Having someone to talk to and share is very important and helpful if you are doing alone.
If your family members who are overweight or obese, it will be good to rope them in the program with you and lose weight together. This is especially when you need companion to do exercise together.
