Many of us think that fruits being very good, will be good for our health and thus replace them with normal meals. However, this is not always the case. Some fruits like avocado, durian etc are very rich and have higher calories. Therefore it is not advisable to consume them in large amounts. Fruits also lack of certain nutrients, we need to have a balance of everything to keep our nutrition level well and good.
We often forget that fresh fruits are also calories and that we need to keep a look out when we eat too much. Unlike chocolates and cookies, we will eat with more prudence and care. With the fruits, we tend to indulge in let go to eat more but not realising that actually they also have calories and sugar! The key is actually to replace energy-dense foods with fruits or vegetables.
Portion control and checking on the overall of the intake of your calories is also very important. Does not mean that you only eat fruits, you can eat to your heart content.
Fruits also tend to have only certain type of nutrition which means that you have a lopsided diet and you might not be getting the right type of nutrition required for your body. This is especially so for the portion on proteins which fruits are very lacked of.
