Yellow Ribbon Run 2022
The first mass physical race in Singapore since the Covid 19. I actually joined the Yellow Ribbon Courageous where you run 21km and cycle 60Km in a certain time frame to be able to get the physical race.
Simply all the other distances covered and interesting races.

After doing the 28 loops round MR for the MR 25 challenge, I was actually quite tired about doing trails. But this was one race I thought maybe worth the while to do as I really did not feel like looping anything anymore and Mountain Goat was another loop race.
I have been very reluctant to write this one, because it was very painful experience. Another reason was that this year, I did it with a person whom I really respect and I felt I had dragged him down the wrong way in this one. After last year’s attempt, I have been thinking seriously, do I really want to do it or let it go? In the end, seems like I just cannot let it go and signed up again.
Joining this was because I got bored about roads. Singapore roads are quite boring and monotonous, maybe because I always run same places or maybe it is due to the Covid 19 and I have not went out of the country for 2 years.
This ultra race is organised by the Running Guild. Ben Swee is the chief mastermind behind all the action. The race can be done over a period designated or one shot which allows you to be on the Roll of Honour of the Running Guild. This 200Km race is different from the 100 miles previously as there is a designated route and time limit to qualify for the roll of honour.
Most of my friends started to get a bit more active during Phase II, reason being that going to shopping malls are becoming a chore with all the checking in and out of apps. It gets really crowded on weekends so no difference towards social distancing. Wearing a mask is also a great deterrence.
During the lock down, I did a couple of longer runs ( not that long for a lot of people maybe). During the weekends, I will venture out from the neighbourhood and go to other parts of Singapore for a run.
The ultras are never a “chop chop” business, but that is also the beauty of it, taking time to plan, to prepare, to arrive, to soak in the atmosphere and to run the race. Whether completing it or not, the experience itself, is something that money cannot buy.
Held yearly around September in the capital of Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. This race is quite a sort after race for Malaysians and regional runners.
Another fruitful year with the POSB Kids run, proceeds from the run actually contributes to the POSH PAssion Kids Fund. POSB PAssion Kids Fund supports children in the community through different causes through sports and other activities.
