Relay For Life (RFL)is actually a global movement founded in May 1985. It has raised about $5 billion and gathered 4 million participants to take part annually, making it one of the world’s largest fundraisers. In Singapore, this relay is organised by the Singapore Cancer Society, it helps to celebrate those who survived from Cancer, remember those whom we lost to cancer and at the same time help to raise some funds for the society.
With the current Corvid 19 situation, many running events has been cancelled. This does not help with more and more continents getting it. Despite that, small runs organised by various groups are still going on. Having joined the previous events organised by SuperFit. I decided to go for their trail running event again.
So this was another pole studio which I went during my Chicago Marathon trip. I wanted to try another studio but seems like my timing can only meet with the schedule of this studio.
Been very late on this since I visited the studio last year in October before the Chicago Marathon. In fact I visited 2 studios during my trip to the US.
Was not supposed to do this race this year, but it was cancelled last year and the postpone reason was not sure. As such all participants were deferred to this year, the race was on Sunday 19 Jan 2020.
The ultras are never a “chop chop” business, but that is also the beauty of it, taking time to plan, to prepare, to arrive, to soak in the atmosphere and to run the race. Whether completing it or not, the experience itself, is something that money cannot buy.
Guiding for the 5th year this time. This time round I got to guide a special needs boy, Ryan, whom I had ran with a couple of times. He is very apt to sprinting.
Joined this year for the half marathon, actually it was my first half marathon with SCMS, it was either 10km or FM. Ever since I stopped running the SCMS full marathon in 2014, I have been doing the 10km with Running Hour buddies and for the first time this year doing a HM.
This actually took place way back but I did not realise I had not addressed it till now when I was clearing pictures. A totally free event but need to sign up online early.
The race is in Sunway Iskandar side of Johor Bahru. It is nearer to the 2nd Link from Tuas side. Race took place over the weekend of Deepavali, which got me a bit reluctant to go as it meant a long weekend and traffic can get bad. However, I was quite happy that it did not take[…]
